Useful information – Sanctions
Anti-doping rule violations and sanctions against the athletes, pursuant to the Law no. 227/2006 regarding the prevention and fight against doping in sport.

Any anti-doping rule violation committed by an athlete during or in relation with a sport event and / or competition leads to the disqualification, invalidation of the individual results obtained within that competition and withdrawal of the medal, points or prizes.

Foreign athletes are sanctioned only when they participate in a sport event and / or competition organized on Romanian territory.

The following facts represent anti-doping rule violations and they are sanctioned as such:

  1. The presence of a prohibited substance or its markers or metabolites in the biological sample of an athlete;

  2. The use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or method;

  3. Possession of prohibited substances and / or methods.
